How to Successfully Work as a Flexi Coach – A Guide for Coaches

Being a Flexi Coach gives you the freedom to shape your coaching career around your lifestyle — whether you're seeking extra hours, new experiences, or a better work-life balance.

This guide walks you through how to make the most of the Flexi Coach platform — from building a standout profile to delivering great sessions and growing your network.

GETTING STARTED

  1. Create Your Account
  • Register as a coach for free on the Flexi Coach platform.
  • Verify your email address.
  • Login with your password.
  • Complete your payment details and set up your stripe account.
  1. Build Your Profile.

A strong, clear profile is essential for getting booked. Include: - A clear photo - A compelling bio that outlines: - Your coaching experience & qualifications - Your coaching style and values - The types of roles you're seeking - How far you're willing to travel

  1. Add Your Listings

You can create multiple listings based on your skills and qualifications. For example:

WAG Coach – Level 5 MAG Coach – Level 2

Each listing can have:

  • Custom availability
  • Separate hourly rates
  • A short description of what you offer

Pro Tip: Coaches with well-written listings and bios are far more likely to get bookings.

  1. Set Your Rates

You’re in control of your pricing — Flexi Coach gives you the flexibility to charge based on experience, demand, and notice period.

Recommended Hourly Rates (Aged 16+):

Level 1 – £20/hr Level 2 – £30/hr Level 3 – £40/hr Level 4 – £50/hr Level 5 – £60/hr+

Platform Fee: Flexi Coach retains a 10% commission — factor this in when setting your rate.

  1. Accepting Bookings

When a club books you:

  • You can accept or decline the offer.
  • If you accept, you must add their club to your British Gymnastics membership.

This lets the club verify that you have: ✅ A valid DBS certificate ✅ Coaching qualification certificate ✅ Up-to-date Safeguarding certificate ✅ BG Positive Coaching certificate ✅ BG Flexibility Training certificate ✅ Judging certificate (if applicable)

This step is mandatory to ensure you are insured, qualified, and safe to coach.

  1. Preparing for a Session

Before you go:

  • Confirm session times, age group, and any specific goals
  • Ask if you’ll be leading, assisting, or both
  • Clarify location, parking, dress code, and kit

Bring:

  • Comfortable coaching clothes (or club uniform, if required)
  • Notepad or session plan
  • A professional, adaptable attitude
  1. At the Gym
  • Arrive early and introduce yourself
  • Follow safeguarding and club procedures
  • Respect their routines and coaching styles
  • Be professional, helpful, and proactive
  • Ask questions if anything is unclear
  1. After the Session
  • Thank the club and request a review on your profile
  • Follow up if you’re interested in future sessions
  • Good relationships lead to more opportunities!
  1. What to Avoid

❌ Forgetting to add the club to your BG membership ❌ Arriving unprepared or late ❌ Ignoring club structure or safety rules ❌ Failing to communicate if you’re delayed or can’t attend ❌ Missing the chance to collect reviews

Important:

If you fail to attend a confirmed booking without notice:

  • The club will receive a full refund
  • You will be blacklisted from the platform
  • Your profile will be removed permanently

Emergencies happen — always communicate early with the club to protect your reputation and the trust in the Flexi Coach community.
